Air Quality Closure Procedures:

We are using a PM2.5 air quality sensor located at the pool and converted to standard Air Quality Index (AQI) rating.  You can view this measurement and corresponding Index in real-time on our homepage. When the AQI is above 150, the pool will be closed. Members should check the website before coming, but assume the pool is open unless they hear otherwise.

If we have to close the pool during the day, a "pool to open at" email will be sent out before we open the pool.  Members should not assume the pool is open just because the air quality reading on the web-site dropped below 150. Our evaluation process includes an assessment of the air quality at the pool and our ability to have proper staffing to reopen

Closures will take place in increments to give as much notice to members as possible. Notice for closure will be given one hour prior to each increment.  The increments for closure will be 6:00-11:00 AM, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, 1:00-3:00 PM, 3:00-5:00 PM, 5:00 PM-close. On weekends the first increment for closure to members will start from 9:00-11:00 AM.

On weekdays, if it is determined the pool must close in the morning, we will remain closed until 11:00 AM. If the air quality has not improved by 10:00 AM, we will remain closed until 1:00 PM, and so forth. If the air quality has still not improved and we can't open the pool at 5:00 PM, the pool will be closed for the remainder of the day. We will follow a similar process on Saturdays and Sundays. Even if there is a decision to reopen at a certain point during the day, staff may close the facility again if AQI rises above 150.
